Scott Wedgewood with more wins, a better save percentage and lower GAA then Igor Shesterkin!

It’s the apocalypse! Or a statistical anomaly.
But funny. I’d imagine more for me then you....

Normally, I'd tell any Devils fan that says something like that to (frank) right off. But, given your history of polite, rational discussion here, I'll say suck my balls, (frank)-face!!

Both Rangers goalies have been average to below to start the year. We would be 4-1-1 if they played like last year

If the top 6 can get going, which I think they will, we could easily get right back in it. Just can’t let too many more slip between our fingers.

Myself, along with most of you have been disappointed in the production of Kakko and Laf. I checked some stats, and most of the elite players are around .75 ppg in their rookie seasons. Obviously Kakko wasn’t close to that, and Laf still without a point.

One exception I found is Draisaitl, only had 9 points in his first 37 games (.24) as a rookie before adding 51 in 72 (.71) his second season.

Sometimes it just takes a bit longer to adjust! I see them both exploding sooner rather than later. Positivity boys!

one of the most encouraging things in the first 5 games is Kakko, he looks like new man

Agreed, he’s playing hard every shift! I also think that most lottery picks enter the league on really awful teams and the coaches just let them do their thing.

The Rangers are a better team, trying to groom 3 zone players, likely impacting their stats.

Couple of the kids are showing some positives.
Chytil playing better.
Kakko with more drive
Miller looks like he should stick around
Laf not playing amazing, but not doing anything wrong either, give him time.

Problem is Shesty looks pedestrian
All the vets look like they are phoning it in, aside from Buch, which is a recipe for losing more than winning.

I agree with Jan. Panarin is over passing. Too much of trying for the perfect play before the chemistry is there.
Quinn needs to instill "get to the basics" and skate your a$$ off.

It’s definitely not a lack of effort right now. It’s there. It’s the lack of smarts with the puck that’s killing them. They lead the league in beautiful passes that dont connect - I just made that stat up

They have been the better team in every game except opening night imo

Looks like three #NYR 2020 draft picks will start the season with AHL Hartford while waiting for their junior league seasons to begin- D Braden Schneider, F Will Cuylle and G Dylan Garand.

And that doesn't impact their entry level contract right?

That’s pretty cool. Hopefully there’s a way to watch these games.

Thanks Tony.

I mean, I'll pass on the ball sucking but appreciate the sentiment.

Right now Matt Tennyson is the Devils +/- leader and yours in K'andre Miller! Hockey has gone crazy!!! I think it's the lack of preseason and shortened training camp.

Seriously, didn't you guys struggle at the start of last season before going on a bat poop crazy run???

we did, but, there's just not enough time in this season to time in this season to turn it around if they keep losing, and not enough playoff spots in this division

An optimistic viewpoint would incline me to mention that other teams will also have rough patches like this.

If they keep playing strong and some of these bounces go our way, we'll be alright. I mean, they had 17 scoring opportunities two games ago

yea especially since majority of the games are going to 3 point games as well. It's going to make it almost impossible to catch up

I'm not even going to get mad if they (frank) this season up. As long as Miller keeps playing silky smooth, I will be in my happy place.
